Nice slim travel laptop!

Nice laptop for travel and day trips. The battery life is great. I was able to stream video for over 6 hours before the battery level was about 40% so still had life left. This is great for those long airport delays we seem to encounter with too much frequency lately. Initial out-of-the-box setup was easy with the audio guidance. It runs cool. The widescreen aspect of the monitor is nice to have with all the widescreen content available. The keyboard and the touchpad are ergonomically pleasant. The camera quality is just adequate for low light photos. The photos are grainy under these conditions (image attached) The speaker quality is typical of laptops. One annoying limitation was that I was unable to install Chrome. It had something to do with the Windows 10 Operating system in S mode. I kept getting a warning message so I stopped the install (image attached) All things considered, this is a nice laptop with good storage (128gb).

Very sleek thin laptop

This is a very thin and sleek laptop. This laptop has pros and cons. When you first turn it on, a woman's voice tells you what to do. I don't know why but the laptop ask you to put in your credit or debit card information. That's one of my biggest con. Why would a new laptop ask for that, I wasn't on any websites shopping. Other than that, this is really. It arrived sooner than expected. Another con is that this laptop doesn't have a cd rom. But I guess that's okay.I would recommend buying this laptop.

Very Happy

I spent about a week during my free time getting to know the HP 14 Whisper Silver Laptop. When I first booted up the laptop I started the registration process. I looked all over the laptop for a data name plate. I did not see a battery compartment to see if the name plate was inside. I found the information I needed to register the laptop on the box the laptop was in. I connected a wireless mouse and I then accessed my ISP website and downloaded the anti virus software. Once I did all the steps to get the laptop ready to surf the internet I was impressed with the vivid display on the screen and the internal speakers are loud enough to hear with back ground sounds. I spent about an hour this morning reading the internal user guide. The guide covered a variety of HP laptops with access to features not available on all models. This model has 3 USB ports, HDMI port, micro SD slot, and earphone jack. I ordered an external DVD/CD drive to play movies and back-up files. So far I have download one movie. I plan on using this laptop while cabin or tent camping.

Great Laptop

I am amazed with this HP laptop. I am really enjoying it. Very lightweight and it has everything a computer has except that you can carry this one. It has Windows 10 and much more applications. I would definitely recommend to anyone trying to decide to buy a laptop.

SO HAPPY

I love the new HP 14 Whisper Silver Laptop 14. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up. Needed a new laptop and this is the perfect one for me. Very light weight to carry and store. Reliable performance on-the-go. Slim and ultra-portable. With long battery life, you can stay social, productive, and connected. The micro-edge display provides more screen in a smaller frame. Responsive and reliable performance: With the latest AMD processor, It has Radeon graphics and a super responsive precision touch pad. nd it's got the power to surf, stream, and do more like never before. Came in a grey and black cover or frame. Surprised how fast the processor performed, and it could because it's brand new and no cookies. Had a good experience with HP brand and loved that I had an opportunity to have another HP and surely do not regret owning.

Nice Laptop

The HP 14 Whisper is a very nice laptop. Very light weight and responsive. I am particularly impressed with the action of the keys. Keys are very responsive and the lettering is very large. Making it great for these old eyes. Comes with all the normal preloads that I don't want but you might. Several games and some nice aps. Graphics are very good and it streams wonderfully. The sound quality is really impressive. I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

Good HP Hardware, Captive Microsoft software

I got this computer in the hopes of upgrading my installation, which consists of a network of 6 older computers, to a more current installation. However, I am totally disappointed. I don't know who really controls this computer from the operational standpoint; Me, HP or Microsoft? From a hardware standpoint, the HP hardware seems to be superior. It's fast, quiet, screen quality is good, good connectivity and other features might also be if the software ever lets me access or control it. The unit is light and about the size of a piece of notebook paper which makes it easy to hold and transport. The problem is the Microsoft Windows 10 software that it's bundled with; it has taken total control of the machine. You can't even start the machine without agreeing to pledge you life to Microsoft. The machine even says so out loud in its own voice when you start it up. So, what do I have here? This is a machine that is primarily aimed at shipping me emails, messaging, spam and advertizing over the internet. And in return it gets to constantly monitor everything I do and say and send it off to who knows where. Gone are the days when you bought a computer to work for you. With this computer bundle, you are working for Microsoft with the help of HP hardware. I'm not sure I like that. In fact I'm sure I don't! A friend of mine said, “You can't review something that you can't use.” There is a lot of truth in that statement. I can't load many if any of my old programs on this machine the way it comes out of the box. I'm sure with a lot of setting readjustments and manipulations I “might” be able to get some loaded but, I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I just want a better wheel. So, if you're looking for some good hardware, HP has it but the problem is that it comes bundled with captive Microsoft software. Consider that heavily when making your purchase.

nice, small, light laptop

I received this 14" HP laptop with AMD processor from the Spark reviewer program for free, in exchange for an honest review of the product. I chose the AMD processor from the available products because I believe the AMD is a little sturdier. The laptop was easy to set up. The screen is smaller than I am used to, but perfectly adequate for writing papers, etc. the small size makes it easier to carry to classes, etc. With only 4 GB of RAM, the laptop is not adequate for gaming. It has speech recognition software, so nice for taking quick notes.

Good basic laptop

This PC is a nice basic machine for an amazingly low price. The overall combination of features it has is pretty impressive. I'm using it to run a CNC 4 axis milling machine and it does that easily.

Absolute garbage

Purchased 9/26/19 and by 12/8/19 it quit working. The laptop has been adult used and well taken care of. While using it one afternoon the screen started to get lines in the display and within about 15 minutes it became junk. I have gone through every suggestion that HP makes on what to do and it's not a simple fix, the laptop which isn't three months into being used, has to be returned to HP on my dime to see if they're willing to repair their garbage under warranty. At this point when you turn the laptop on and it powers up all you get is a screen filled with vertical pink lines. I will never buy another HP laptop again.
